Another Day, Another Dollar...and a Few Surprises 😂
Warning: this blog post contains excessive use of sarcasm and eye-rolling !! 🙄
I just love days that start with a sense of excitement and anticipation...said no one ever 😒. Today was one of those days where I woke up at the crack of noon, eager to dive back into programming and get our server running again 💻. Who needs a morning routine when you have code to write? 🤣
But, as it often does, reality had other plans 🙃. I strolled into work at my own pace (read: fashionably late), only to find that the grounds guy, painter, and summer help were all already on campus 🌳🎨. The morning was shaping up to be a productive one...or so I thought 💡.
That's when things took a turn for the unexpected 😱. One of the lovely ladies in our crew got accidentally sprayed with hot water ☕️, because why not? She bravely soldiered on despite the pain, only to have another lady succumb to a back injury 30 minutes later 🤦♀️. Ibuprofen was administered, and she was no longer able to stand 💔.
Now, I'm no expert, but I thought it might be a good idea for her to see the school doctor 🏥. She declined, so I messaged our supervisor, who told me that she needed to call the school nurse 📞. Easy peasy, right? Wrong! I gave her the number posted in the front office, and she said she'd call from home 🤷♀️.
Here's where things get interesting...I think this is where the line was crossed (not intentionally, of course). As it turns out, she was planning to decline insurance anyway 🙅♂️. So, there you have it folks: just another day in paradise 😒.
