Emerging from the Meloncolich Phase
As I sit here in early November, surrounded by the vibrant colors of fall, I'm reminded that life is full of seasons – not just the changing weather patterns outside my window. The past summer was a challenging yet eye-opening experience for me as Head Custodian. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to re-evaluate where I was investing my energy.
As I reflect on those long, hot days, I've come to realize that it's time for me to refocus my attention on the things that bring me joy and fulfillment. One of those things is photography. I've recently started taking pictures again, and it feels amazing to be behind a camera lens, capturing the beauty of the world around me.
Speaking of which, I planted some coleus from seed earlier this year, and they're absolutely thriving in this fall weather. The colors are so vibrant, and it's been a delight to watch them grow and evolve. It's a small reminder that even in the midst of uncertainty and change, there is always beauty to be found.
And speaking of uncertainty and change, I'm grateful that we've just come through an election season with a presidential candidate who shares my aspirations for our nation. It's a nice feeling to know that there are still people working towards a common good.
On a personal level, I'm also thankful for the loved ones in my life – my mom, dad, sister, and brother. Even though we've had some family members take a break from fellowship, it's comforting to know that they're still part of our larger family tapestry.

As I look back on this past season, I realize that it's been a bit melancholic at times. But I'm choosing to focus on the lessons learned and the opportunities for growth that have emerged. And as I move forward into this new season, I'm excited to see what's in store – not just for myself but for our nation and our world.
Thanks for stopping by to read about my reflections and musings. This post is probably more for me to reflect on later than anything else, but if it resonates with you, that's a bonus!
